Over the holidays I received a New Year’s postcard from a friend with this Neil Gaiman quote on it:
So that’s what I hope for you too.
Make GLORIOUS, RIDICULOUS mistakes and then, CELEBRATE.
Because it means you challenged the norm of your life and believed in yourself enough to try.
It might suck. It might hurt. You might hate it so much that you want to give up — don’t.
LOVE YOURSELF INSTEAD.
LOVE the part of you that was courageous.
And REMIND yourself that beauty, art, innovation, and greatness were all made from mistakes.
I’ll be making mistakes right along with you (I already have), and will be cheering you on as we go.
